Private Gregory Sher z’l, an Australian soldier from Second Commando Company, was killed on active service in Afghanistan last Sunday. He was the 8th Australian Digger to be killed in the UN sanctioned war against the Taliban (background to Gregory Sher’s life and service can be read here An Aussie Hero Gregory Sher). Greg Sher’s body will arrive this Friday on a C17 “Starlifter” aircraft from Kabul at Melbourne’s Tullamarine Airport for a full ceremonial service attended by the army chiefs, the family and the Minister for Defence.
 The levayah will take place at the Jewish cemetery at Lyndhurst (Melbourne) with Rabbi Heilbrunn, chief minister St Kilda Hebrew Congregation, officiating.
